Norrbottens Bergteknik has been commissioned to prepare the terrain in the Twin Peaks project, which involves drilling and rock excavation for roads, crane plans and wind power foundations.
The name Twin Peaks comes from the fact that the wind farm area consists of two hills in the municipality of Sollefteå, specifically in Ranasjö and Salsjö, which are 15 kilometres apart. The park will contain 39 wind turbines, with 25 and 14 turbines in each park.
- Initially, we have two drilling rigs in place and it is possible that we will add a third rig in January 2022. We started drilling on December 6 and blasting last week," says Sune Grundström, Norrbottens Bergteknik.
The work is expected to last until the second half of 2022. The client is Stenger & Ibsen, which is working for the developer Arise, one of Sweden's leading players in renewable energy.
- It is very gratifying to start work on the Twin Peaks wind farm. Our participation in the project is fully in line with our ambition to take an active role in the intensified green transformation of society. We have a modern machine park and a clear focus on sustainability work, which leads to more and more business opportunities," said Andreas Christoffersson, CEO of Nordisk Bergteknik in a press release sent out in mid-November 2021.
